The first year of the apprenticeship is comprised of basic on-the-job training as an electronics technician specialising in appliances and systems, including study at the professional school in Bamberg. A foundation course of study for a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Coburg begins in the second year. The main study period (2 semesters) takes place in the third year. The apprenticeship is completed in the first six months of the fourth year. In the second half of the fourth year, study is continued in a chosen specialist field (e.g. appliances and systems/industrial engineering). In the fifth year, the sandwich course is completed with a final thesis.

Requirements: general qualification for university entrance or vocational qualification for technical college entrance (Abitur/Fachabitur in German education system).
Duration: 4 ½ years

Application deadline for training in 2011 is the 26.09.2010.
