Recall of subwoofers 350 W
The quality, safety and reliability of our products is top of Loewe’s list of priorities. In the course of our product monitoring we have discovered that overheating has occurred in an OEM module of the subwoofers 350 W. This can cause the unit to ignite in the worst case. There is a danger of fire.
To avoid all risks, we recommend you to stop using the subwoofer immediately and to disconnect it from the mains supply for safety.
Amplifier/bass speaker combinations produced between February 2007 and July 2007 in the following variants are concerned:
Article number | Colour | Serial number range |
66203 A 01 | Platinum | 10001 - 10628 |
66203 D 01 | Anthracite | 10001 - 10213 |
66213 A 00 | Platinum | 1001 - 4030 |
66213 D 00 | Anthracite | 1001 - 2340 |
The equipment data (article no. / serial no.) can be found on the back of the unit or the equipment pass.
Other subwoofers or other audio products are not affected (e.g. not affected are Individual Sound Subwoofer 200 W, Tremo, Concertos)
Dealers who have received such deliveries have already been provided with information about the units delivered/affected in an attempt to reach as many affected end customers as possible.
Affected end customers for whom Loewe had addresses were already informed immediately and directly by Loewe.
The subwoofer can be repaired on site by changing the electronics.
If you have one of the devices mentioned above which has not yet been repaired, please contact your dealer or the Loewe hotline (free tel. no. 00800/22555639, available Monday to Friday 8 – 20 h, Saturday and Sunday 10 – 18 h).
Warning: Important Safety Notice
Examination of Loewe picture tube TV sets from the years of production 1999 to 2001, and of TV sets made by AHB
Safety and reliability of the products have the highest priority at Loewe. In the framework of continuous quality checks it was discovered that, in picture tube TV sets from the production period March 1999 to October 2001, faults could arise at certain soldered points which could lead to overheating of the set and, in the worst case, to a danger of fire.
Only 100 Hz picture tube TV sets made by Loewe, and certain 100 Hz picture tube sets made by AHB are affected.
These sets are now between 8 and 10 years old.
To avoid any risks for our customers, Loewe points out that these TV sets should be checked by an authorised dealership as a precautionary measure. This will involve checking the affected soldered-riveted joint and re-soldering. This precautionary check has been carried out over the past three years at every repair carried out in Loewe workshops.
Loewe recommends that customers should have the check made as soon as possible and not to operate the set until it has been checked.
You can check here whether your set is affected by this campaign.
